Haiti

  • 50% of all individuals who suffer from blindness in the Caribbean reside in Haiti, with the largest of those cases being cataracts. Low-income communities have the highest risk of this pathology because they lack access to good eye care, doctors, equipment, and eye clinics. 30,000+ cases are identified each year however very little can be done. We need to raise awareness to aid in preventing blindness and give Haiti hope for a brighter future.

  • CharityVision works to strengthen eye care services in the community. We regularly conduct awareness and eye screening campaigns with our partners to prevent this pathology and refractive errors for kids and adults. Our vulnerable and low-income community benefits from a 70% to 80% reduction per cataract surgery. We facilitate funding for eye surgeries through generous donations from organizations, families, and individuals with hearts for restoring sight.
