In 2005, a large donation of books was sent from CharityVision headquarters to schools in El Salvador. During one of those visits, teachers shared a concern: some students were struggling in class and acting out, and they wondered if poor vision might be part of the problem.

Eye screenings revealed that many children with low grades simply could not see the board clearly. That discovery became the beginning of SightBuddies—known as QuieroVer in Latin America—a program that now helps children in eleven countries receive the eye care they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Thanks to volunteer doctors and generous partners, a child can receive prescription glasses for just $10.
