Yayasan Amal Mata Indonesia (Charity Vision)

  • With 17,000 islands and a population of 274 million, Indonesia faces a significant challenge in addressing vision impairments. Shockingly, 1 in 4 children in the country have a vision impairment, but only 12% wear glasses. Limited accessibility and high costs hinder the provision of adequate eye care. Over 10% of the impoverished population further exacerbates the challenge of reaching those in need and restoring sight.

  • CharityVision partners with volunteers and community leaders in remote areas of Indonesia, working across four zones in western and central Java. With monthly screenings of 10,000 children, we aim to restore sight and provide eyeglasses to approximately 10-12% of them. As resources allow, we aspire to expand our program to more cities.
