In Nigeria, about 4.25 million people are blind or visually impaired. Over 84% of the causes of vision loss could have been prevented or treated. Access to affordable eye care is a significant reason why people remain blind, and it is an economic burden in this country.
With rising rates of type 2 diabetes due to urbanization, sedentary lifestyles, and poor dietary habits, it is emerging as a major eye health issue.

CharityVision provides consumable surgery packs to train resident ophthalmologists and to provide discounted or no-cost procedures to those in need. This year, our partner’s goal is to perform 3,000 eye social surgeries.
